the House of Cedar

House of Cedar
10/11/06 dream
In this dream I was in a house with many rooms, made and paneled inside and out with rough-hewn cedar. There was a view of lovely clouds in a green valley. Then the carpenters and I were standing outside the house looking at the valley. The clouds to my left shifted, diving up with a sweeping motion, and then disappearing beneath the horizon. A strong storm was coming with powerful winds, and I retreated inside the house. I saw silk flowers fallen in the walk way.

After this dream the Lord led me to 1 Chronicles 14:2 where it is written that King David knew that the Lord was establishing him because a palace of cedar was built for him. I believe this is a parallel of what the Lord is doing with His people in our time; establishing us in His promises, or the Promised Land. King David gained victory over the Lord’s enemies and was established in the Promised Land, and we must gain victory over our enemies to be established also. The Lord is building up our faith and will one day have a people who stand on Who He is and what He says, putting our enemies under our feet by the authority and power of Jesus. This establishing of God’s church seems to precede His manifest presence coming into His people, which parallels the building of Solomon’s temple. Perhaps we have waited for the Lord to come in His power and have missed our role in being established in our faith. Our faith is necessary for the harvest, and Jesus foretold that our faith would be thin in the times of the end[1]. God is preparing us for a harvest of righteousness and we can see the winds of adversity, sickness, and other trials entering the lives of the saints to blow the vanity of our affections for this life away. He is preparing a people in which to dwell with the fullness of His glory.
