Brotherhood

Brotherhood

Curious beginnings – Travel back in time to Israel’s family; 12 sons who did not always agree with each other . . . who even hated one of their own. But God sent them into the womb of Egypt where 1) they would be knit back together as a family that loved and honored each other, 2) they would endure hardship, all members suffering the yoke of slavery, and 3) Israel’s family would be birthed as a nation of people, leaving Egypt. No longer was Israel’s family ruled by partiality or special interest; each member had become knit to the others.

Just as when children are born and learn to walk and talk, when Israel was born as a nation it was a people who needed to learn to walk next to its Father, led by His hand. Their unity was necessary to learn God’s ways as a nation, and to conquer their enemies, taking the Promise Land as their inheritance. This unity was accomplished in Egypt.

Man has failed to look at circumstances through My eyes. To Man, each success comes as a strength, or an asset to be used in his favor. The more freedom and independence he gains, the more he feels important within himself. But I put Man under the tutelage of slavery, bondage, and adversity to bond him to his brothers and to Me. If a man can learn the worth of his brother, he can be of worth to Me.

Remember the failure of Cain, and that he said “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Remember the failure of Israel’s sons who sold their brother into slavery. When the members of the Church become their brother’s keepers, they will have unity. Then the Church will have success against her enemies and walk into her inheritance.
