The word “positioning” had been used in many lessons and in lectures. Men and women have encouraged us to position ourselves for blessing, the will of God, destiny . . . even promotion. Today the Lord brought this word up, asking some very intriguing questions.
“Do you think Joseph thought he was being positioned for his destiny when he served as his father’s favorite son? When he served Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials, did Joseph feel so closely positioned to his destiny that it was within his grasp? Or when Joseph served in prison, did he think I had found fault with him and passed him over for the position I promised? Yet many people look at the circumstances of their lives to assess the nearness of their destiny.
Man cannot position himself: I, God, position Man. When Joseph was doing well he was positioned for learning. When he was in prison he was positioned for his destiny. I hem a man in by his circumstances (Ps 139:5), and make his way broad in My sovereign timing.”
Let us trust in God, that in whatever circumstances we find ourselves, our position will be determined by Him. He will work it out for our good, and for the fulfillment of our destiny (Gen 50:20). Amen.
