Last week the Lord said to me, “The Church as put a gag in My mouth.” Today He brought the following lesson together on that subject:
The prophets of today more often represent ministries and men than they do God, and it should not be so. They are trying to fit into a Church system that does not know what a prophet is. Though this is difficult, those that succeed boast in fitting in. Their message is one of submission and their prophetic words are shallow, meatless, and compromising.
A prophet is separated unto God to get to know Him. He or she then ministers to the body of Christ, imparting God’s nature through His Word; all of God’s nature. The prophet does not speak within the confines of his pastor’s message, nor does he stop short of correction because the current fad for prophecy dictates that only nice words be spoken.
The prophet was hated in the Old Testament because God used him or her to bring balance to His people by speaking what was on God’s heart. God did not have the prophets become part of their contemporaries’ religious institutions for that would have been a conflict of interests. So now, prophets that serve by submitting to those of lesser faith compromise God’s words because there is a conflict of interests; God’s interests are different than men’s interests. Faith is imparted according to a man’s calling and does not depend on a man’s position in Church.
God is calling His prophets back to Himself. The Church cannot be built up through your ministry if you are trying to fit it into the concepts of those with lesser faith. The Church suffers for lack of prophets. Yes, prophets submit to each other. Yes, they submit to the order of the Church. But no, they do not compromise God’s words nor His character because some men would disapprove. Let the prophets speak the words of God, and let them represent God’s character through what they speak. Amen.
