Trust

God gives us lessons of trust. They are not little lessons nor do they give us the short answers. When God invites us into these moments of our life they tend to be long, though we wish they would be abbreviated.

When Job was in the worst trial of his life, he said that, even if God took his life, he would trust Him (Job 13:15).  It was a severe crisis, and Job had hard lessons to learn. But rather than feel rejected by God, Job chose to trust Him.

During our trials we try to fill in the blanks when we lack understanding. Perhaps we think we are supposed to learn to live without a loved one who has passed away. Instead, God is trying to bring us into a place where we abide in trust of Him.

Some things we will never have the answers for in this life. But we can always trust God's character. He is inviting us to get to know him when He allows trust-building circumstances in our lives. The sur-passing worth of knowing Christ is just that; it is passing our understanding (Phil 4:7). Even without understanding, there can be peace. Knowing Christ allows us to walk hand-in-hand with the very God who chose us for a relationship that begins here on earth.

Today your trials may be harsh. They may not seem like an invitation into God's presence. But they are even more than that; they are an invitation into a deeper relationship. Instead of feeling rejected, know that you are chosen for the high calling in Christ. He will never leave you or forsake you. Amen
